Kerala’s Chief Election Officer Tikaram Meena’s statement that bogus voting did take place in some booths in Kasaragod has left the CPI(M) red-faced.
According to Meena, CCTV visuals the channels aired were genuine and polling officers were liable for punishment. The upset CPI(M) leadership has threatened legal action against Meena.
Like in West Bengal during their hay days, the CPI(M) has been indulging in malpractices for long in its strongholds.
The Congress and BJP have been alleging that the CPI(M) had undertaken massive bogus voting across the state.
The CPI(M) goons threaten booth agents of rival parties and poll officials with violence which forces hapless people to remain mute spectators to unfair practices.
Speaking to a private channel, BJP leader K Surendran said, “In the last Assembly election, his booth agent was attacked that left him permanently handicapped. Officers are told that their hands would be cut if they obstruct their work. In some constituencies the party has been winning just because they indulge in mass rigging.”
According to reports, bogus voting took place in Dharmadam, the home constituency of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
