The future of the Kamal Nath-led Congress government in Madhya Pradesh is likely to be decided on the first day of budget session tomorrow. Governor Lalji Tandon has directed Chief Minister Kamal Nath in a letter to prove majority on the first day of the budget session.
AIR correspondent reports that a meeting of Congress MLAs is underway at Chief Minister’s residence to discuss the strategy for tomorrow’s floor test. On the other hand, rebel MLAs of Congress have once again sent their resignations to the Speaker of the Assembly and appealed to accept them.
MLAs who wrote to Speaker are Jajpal Jajji, Brijendra Yadav, Ranveer Jatav, Kamlesh Jatav, Giriraj Dandotiya, Manoj Choudhary, OPS Bhadoria, Raksha Santram Saroniya, Suresh Dhakad, Rajyavardhan Singh, Biasahulal Singh, Hardeep Singh Dang, Jaswant Jatav, Munnalal Goyal, R Kansana and Aidalsingh Kansana.
Ahead of the floor test, the Bhopal district administration has imposed Section 144 of CrPC in several parts of state capital. The restrictions will be in place from tomorrow to April 13, the last day of budget session. Informing about the state cabinet meeting, state Minister PC Sharma said it was discussed that MLAs who have come from Jaipur Haryana and Bengaluru should be medically tested for Coronavirus.
Meanwhile, senior BJP leader Narottam Mishra has requested Governor that if any technical flaw happens during the floor test tomorrow, the majority can be ascertained by raising hands.
