BRAIDS OF AN UNMARRIED WOMAN: A Poem by Arsha Bijer

Painting: Gloria Vitto

A damsel: Glorious wold-
of brimming wild roses.
Her braids: Tale of-
fantasies left concealed!
The golden trousseau:
A pretty heirloom gifted-
By her mom remains untouched.
Her eyes: Never hooked up
In the arms of Morpheus!
And folks gossiped
over the scattered legacies.
She is a mysterious Island,
With a full savour life.
The bride of adventures!
