Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said the BJP-led government in Jharkhand is essential to speed up development works in the state.
Addressing election rallies in Daltonganj and Gumla, Mr Modi said, Naxalism strengthened during the previous unstable government. He said, the BJP has provided a stable and corruption-free government in the state during the last five years.
Mr Modi said the BJP government is busy transforming Jharkhand while the Congress and JMM are tarnishing the State’s image.
Addressing another election meeting in Gumla, Mr Modi said the prime mantra of the BJP-ruled State is development. He asserted that the BJP governments at the Centre and the state would continue to protect Jharkhand’s water, forests and land.
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader Hemant Soren, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha President Babulal Marandi and AJSU Chief Sudesh Kumar Mahto addressed a series of meetings throughout the state today.
Besides leaders of Congress, RJD and the Left also addressed election rallies to woo voters.
The 81-member Jharkhand Assembly will go to polls in five phases between 30th November and 20th December. Counting of votes will take place on December 23.
