NK Premachandran MP has raised ‘backdoor appointments’ controversy against the LDF government in the Lok Sabha. He claimed that thousands of people are being appointed through ‘backdoor’ in states like Kerala and West Bengal and requested for the central government’s intervention against such illegal acts.
The LDF government is appointing people as temporary staff and under contract as per their interests, overlooking the PSC rank holders in the state. Premachandran pointed out that it is illegal to regularise temporary employees who have completed 10 years of service.
The relatives of several party leaders are appointed to government positions illegally. Applicants who have been listed in PSC rank lists for several years are on the verge of committing suicide. There are widespread protests against the government in the state. A similar kind of situation has arised in Bengal as well, he stated.
NK Premachandran also demanded protecting PSCs by preventing ‘backdoor appointments’ in the country.
