On the second day of his two-day visit to the Kashmir Valley, General MM Naravane, Chief of Army Staff continued to review the security situation along the Line of Control.
He was accompanied by the Northern Army Commander Lt Gen YK Joshi and Chinar Corps Commander, Lt Gen BS Raju. General Naravane visited the formations and units, wherein the local Commanders briefed him on the existing security situation. He was also briefed about the measures instituted so that infiltration bids by terrorists are foiled.
The Army Chief was briefed by the local Commanders about the situation on the LoC, cease-fire violations, retaliations, counter-infiltration operations and operational preparedness being maintained by the jawans.
During his interaction with the soldiers on snow-clad heights, he appreciated the sharp vigil and ness being maintained along the Line of Control and the high morale of the troops serving the nation even at the prevailing circumstances in the wake of Coranavirus pandemic.
He also impressed upon the commanders to maintain strict vigil along the Line of Control and remain prepared to give a befitting reply to any misadventure from across and exhorted the soldiers to remain for any eventuality.
