Bollywood Actor Akshay Kumar has responded to former Gorkha regiment officer Major Manik Jolly concerning a glaring error pointed out by the latter in the poster of his upcoming movie ‘Gorkha’ on Saturday.
Major Manik Jolly had pointed out an error in the representation of the ‘Khukri’ used by Gorkhas. Pointing out that the Khukri was not a sword, the retired officer said that the weapon has a sharp edge on one side and strikes from the “inner side of the blade”.
Responding to the Twitter post, the actor thanked the veteran Gorkha regiment officer for pointing out the discrepancy in the poster.
Stating that he was proud of making a movie honouring the Gorkhas, Akshay said that he would appreciate more suggestions to keep the details in the film closest to reality.
Akshay had released the poster of his forthcoming film on October 15, wherein he announced that he would be essaying the role of war hero Major General Ian Cardozo.
The movie is being directed by National award-winning director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan. The film also sees Akshay reuniting with producer Aanand L Rai for the third time.
