PK Anilkumar, the controversial leader of the CITU (Centre of Indian Trade Unions) in Kochi, has recently come under scrutiny for purchasing a Mini Cooper valued at fifty lakhs. Anilkumar, who heads the Petroleum and Gas Workers Union, has faced criticism for his property acquisitions, and the acquisition of a luxury car has only intensified the controversy surrounding him. However, Anilkumar defended himself by stating that the car was purchased by his wife, who is an officer of the Indian Oil Corporation.
Anilkumar, known for his labor activism, has raised eyebrows with his penchant for luxury vehicles. The addition of the Mini Cooper to his collection has sparked discussions among party members in Ernakulam. Nevertheless, Anilkumar was quick to clarify that he was not the buyer of the vehicle in question.
Currently, Anilkumar already owns Toyota Innova and Fortuner vehicles registered under his own name. When confronted about the ownership details of the new luxury car, Anilkumar responded dismissively, stating that he did not owe anyone an explanation. This incident is yet another addition to the series of controversies that have surrounded the CITU leader in the past.
Apart from his luxury car purchase, Anilkumar has faced legal trouble recently. A complaint has been filed against him for allegedly threatening officials of an oil company in Kochi. Additionally, he is also embroiled in a case involving a woman entrepreneur who operates a gas agency in Vypin Kogippally. The entrepreneur accused Anilkumar of caste-based abuse and threats. The CITU leadership has confirmed that no official complaint regarding Anilkumar’s ownership of a luxury car has been received thus far. However, they have expressed their intent to investigate the matter.
