Days before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Indian embassy has been sending frequent advisories for its nationals in the country. However, the instructions were completely ignored by Indians in the warzone, indicates reports. The mainstream media is now busy bringing out ‘shocking’ stories of Indians in Ukraine taking advantage of the situation.
Here is the timeline of advisories issued to Indian citizens in Ukraine in just Last Week
February 15
Advisory issued by Mission urging Indian nationals to leave Ukraine.
February 16
Cap on passengers removed under Air bubble Arrangement February 18 : Air India flights announced for Feb 22, 24 and 26
February 20
Air India was considering postponing flights due to no bookings from Ukraine. February 20 : Second Advisory issued by Mission strongly urging Indian Nationals to leave.
February 22
Third advisory issued regarding additional flights. February 22 : Fourth Advisory issued regarding online classes by Ukrainian Universities as many students were not willing to leave in absence of online classes.
February 22
2 Russian speaking officers sent to Kyiv to help with the return of Indian nationals.
February 24
Fifth Advisories issued regarding the following :
• Advised to return to respective cities temporarily,
• Closing of airspace and alternative arrangements for evacuation; relocating to western areas; number of helplines increased.
• Regarding martial law imposition, and not to leave homes and hostels
Following the instincts, when Rahul Gandhi is busy criticising the centre for their ‘failure’ of bringing Indian nationals back home, Chief Ministers of Kerala and Tamil Nadu has already started taking advantage of the situation.
Offering free tickets and assuring conveyance right till the doorsteps of their homes when these opportunists are busy playing vote-bank politics, the centre is tirelessly striving to bring home Indians to the homeland.
