Sri Lanka has extended an invitation to the Kitex Garments to invest in the island country. Dr. D Venkateshwaran, Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Chennai, visited Kitex MD Sabu Jacob at Kochi on Saturday.
He offered complete co-operation if Kitex is willing to invest in Sri Lanka. However, the company has not decided on the offer yet.
Earlier, Bangladesh and several other countries in the Arabian Gulf region had offered incentives to Kitex group for investments in their countries when the company decided to drop Rs 3,500 crore investment in Kerala, the management claimed.
Kitex has already decided to invest Rs. 1,000 crores in Telangana. The company claimed that they received offers from 8 other states.
