About 100 KMS away from Raipur (CG), there exists a temple of Mata Chandi which is besieged by dense forest. What makes this temple special is that, every evening, when Aarati is over, Bears from the forest visit and many people offer prasad to these wild bears
The Chandi Mata temple is situated in village Ghunchapali just 6-7km. From Bagbahara a tahsil place of Mahasamund district in Chhattisgarh .the temple is located on a small hill surrounded by beautiful forest and rocky knobs.
A number of bears come regularly in temple premises from surrounding forest in evening and they take eatable offering given by pilgrim without causing any harm and hesitation.
They roam freely in the premises and after eating the prasad(eatable offering’s) they return in the jungle. The temple premises is big and beautiful. Having the main temple of Chandi Mata and temple’s of Hanuman and Bhairavnaath another small and beautiful cave Temple of Mata Kali is also a big attraction for devotees. There is a big hall and Dharam shala is also available for resting and accommodation of a pilgrim.
