In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, three terrorists have been killed in an encounter that broke out between terrorists and security forces in Reban village of Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district this morning.
According to the police, a joint team of Sopore Police, Army’s 22 RR and CRPF laid a Cordon-and-Search-Operation (CASO) in the village based on a specific intelligence input.
As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter that resulted in the killing of three terrorists.
The identity of the slain terrorists is being ascertained. Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition have also been recovered from their possession.
Search operation in the area is going on.
