In yet another case of honeytrap in Kerala, two women were arrested for trying to extort money by threatening a doctor.
As per the police report, Naufiya, a native of Mannuthi, used to send regular messages to the doctor. The doctor did not reply as it was an unfamiliar number. Following this, the messages became threatening and demanded money.
The woman had threatened to file a harassment complaint if the doctor fails to pay Rs 3 lakh. When he refused, a man threatened him over an internet call. The doctor then lodged a complaint with the police. After realizing that it was a honeytrap, the police started replying to the message sent by the girl.
The police sent back a message that the amount would be paid. The accused sent a message that a woman from Bangalore will come to collect the money. Nisa, a fitness trainer from Bangalore, arrived in Thrissur and contacted the doctor on WhatsApp. This time the doctor’s phone was in the police’s possession. Then the police came and arrested the woman.
