A shocking incident has come to light in Alwar, Rajasthan where a 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three men on Saturday night. According to reports, the accused identified as Sabir, Nasir and Nazir, all married, kidnapped the girl and took her to an isolated area in the outskirts of her village where they raped her.
After the incident, the victim managed to reach her home at 10pm and narrated her ordeal to her family. However, instead of taking immediate action, the family decided to approach the police the next morning. Unfortunately, the girl allegedly died by suicide at her home around seven hours after the incident.
The police have booked the accused for abetment to suicide, in addition to gang rape. However, the accused are still at large and the police are carrying out raids to track them down. The victim’s mother has lodged a complaint against the accused and stated that her daughter was kidnapped and raped, which forced her to take the extreme step.
The incident has once again brought the issue of women’s safety in the state to the forefront. Rajasthan has been witnessing a surge in cases of crimes against women, including sexual assault, in recent years.
